Planning a 2027 Wedding Near Houston? The Dates You Should Book First
Photos taken by Uncle Tio Photography.
If you're recently engaged and live in Fulshear, Katy, Cross Creek Ranch, Tamarron, Jordan Ranch, Richmond or somewhere else on the west side of Houston, there's a good chance your wedding venue search has already started with one simple question:
What dates are actually still available for 2027?
That's a smart question to ask early.
Fulshear continues to grow, and so does the number of couples looking for beautiful wedding venues on the west side of Houston. The most desirable 2027 Saturdays—especially during spring and fall—won't stay open forever.
The good news is that you don't necessarily need to drive into Houston to find a wedding venue you love.
In fact, if you're searching for a 2027 wedding venue near Fulshear TX, expanding your search just a little farther west can give you more choices, a completely different wedding-day atmosphere, and potentially more flexibility with your date.
Before you start sending inquiries, here's what I would consider when choosing your 2027 wedding date.
Your Wedding Date Doesn't Have to Come First
One of the easiest mistakes to make when planning a wedding is choosing a date before you've looked at venues.
You might decide:
October 16th. That's our date.
Then you begin calling venues only to discover that your favorite places are already booked.
Instead, I recommend choosing a wedding window first.
Maybe you know you want:
- Fall 2027
- A Saturday
- An outdoor ceremony
- Cooler weather
- Around 100 guests
- A venue within a reasonable drive of Fulshear
That's actually enough information to begin touring.
Go into your search with two or three possible dates instead of one non-negotiable Saturday. You may find that a beautiful venue is worth getting married October 23 instead of October 16.
That flexibility can make your entire planning process easier.
Fall 2027 Will Likely Be One of the First Seasons Couples Ask About
When we talk with couples planning weddings in our part of Texas, fall is always appealing.
And it's easy to understand why.
By October and November, couples are hoping for cooler evenings, comfortable outdoor ceremonies and weather that feels a little more wedding-friendly than the middle of a Texas summer.
If you're hoping for a fall 2027 wedding near Fulshear, these are the Saturday dates to have on your radar.
October 2027
October has five Saturdays:
October 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30
Having five Saturdays sounds like plenty of availability, but October is also one of those months that a lot of Texas couples love.
If October is your dream month, I would start looking at venues sooner rather than waiting until 2027.
You can always tour now and make a thoughtful decision. What you don't want is to wait until several of your favorite venues only have one October Saturday remaining.
November Is Worth Serious Consideration
November can be an excellent option for couples who love the idea of a fall wedding but are willing to look beyond October.
The Saturday dates are:
November 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2027
Thanksgiving is November 25, so November 27 falls on Thanksgiving weekend.
Whether that's a great wedding date or one you'd rather avoid depends entirely on your family.
If many of your guests live locally around Fulshear, Katy or Richmond, a holiday weekend may be manageable.
If you're inviting guests who will need to fly into Houston, consider airfare, hotel prices and family holiday traditions before making your decision.
Sometimes looking at the calendar from your guests' perspective can help narrow down your choices very quickly.
Spring Weddings Near Fulshear Should Be Booked Early Too
Fall gets a lot of attention, but spring is another beautiful time to get married in this area.
For couples who want flowers, greenery, garden ceremonies and generally milder temperatures, March and April can be especially attractive.
March 2027 Saturdays
March 6, 13, 20 and 27
April 2027 Saturdays
April 3, 10, 17 and 24
If you're searching for a spring 2027 wedding venue near Fulshear, this is another season where I wouldn't assume you'll have unlimited options simply because the wedding is still months away.
Your photographer, DJ, florist and caterer may also be booking the same weekends.
Getting your venue secured gives you the date you need to begin assembling the rest of your vendor team.
One 2027 Date That Is Especially Fun: 2/27/27
Every year seems to have at least one date that couples notice immediately.
For 2027, it's hard to miss:
Saturday, February 27, 2027 — 2/27/27
It's easy to remember, looks great printed on invitations, and it happens to fall on a Saturday.
And as of September 2026, 2/27/27 was still available at Brandt 1910.
February may not be the first month everyone thinks about when imagining a Texas wedding, but there can be advantages to choosing a date outside the traditional peak months.
You may have more venue options and potentially better availability among your other preferred vendors.
So if you love a memorable wedding date, don't overlook February.
May Gives You Five Saturdays—But Check the Calendar Carefully
May is another month Fulshear-area couples often consider because it's still technically spring, but there are a few calendar conflicts worth thinking about.
The Saturdays are:
May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2027
May often brings:
- Mother's Day plans
- High school and college graduations
- End-of-school activities
- Memorial Day weekend travel
None of those automatically make May a bad month to get married.
They simply make it more important to think about your guest list before choosing your date.
If your sister is graduating from college, your nephew has high school graduation or several close friends have children finishing school, one May weekend may work significantly better than another.
Fulshear Couples Have an Advantage: You Don't Have to Search Only Toward Houston
One thing I encourage couples on the west side of town to remember is that Houston isn't your only direction.
If you search exclusively toward downtown Houston, you're putting yourself into a much larger and often more expensive wedding market.
Turn your search west instead.
For couples in Fulshear, communities like Wallis can be surprisingly convenient while offering a completely different setting.
Brandt 1910 is located in historic downtown Wallis, just west of Fulshear.
Our venue is inside a restored historic 1910 building and includes an indoor ballroom, enclosed garden ceremony space and upstairs getting-ready suites.
For many couples searching for wedding venues near Fulshear TX, that means they can have the character of a destination-style venue without actually planning a destination wedding.
Your entire day can happen in one place.
Get ready upstairs.
Have your ceremony in the garden.
Move inside for the reception.
Dance, celebrate and send everyone home without changing locations.
A Friday Wedding Might Get You the Venue You Really Want
There's no rule that says your wedding has to happen on Saturday.
And once couples start touring venues, this is one of the options I wish more would seriously consider.
If the Saturday you want is already booked, ask about Friday.
Or Sunday.
Or even a weekday.
Choosing a different day of the week may give you:
- More venue availability
- More vendor availability
- Additional pricing options
- More freedom to choose the season you really want
You can view Brandt 1910's current venue rental options and pricing here.
Friday weddings can also work particularly well when many of your guests are local to Fulshear, Katy, Richmond and surrounding areas.
Instead of turning down the venue you love because one Saturday is taken, ask what else is available.
Think About Your Guests Before You Sign the Contract
When choosing between several possible 2027 wedding dates, I would make a quick list of the people whose attendance truly matters to you.
Parents.
Grandparents.
Siblings.
Your wedding party.
Close family.
Then look at the calendar through their eyes.
Are there major birthdays?
Anniversaries?
School events?
College football games that matter to half the family?
Holiday weekends?
Graduations?
Travel limitations?
You don't need to accommodate every guest's calendar. That's nearly impossible.
But checking your date against the schedules of your most important people can prevent unnecessary conflicts later.
Weather Matters—But Your Backup Plan Matters More
Texas weather is going to do what Texas weather wants to do.
You can choose a historically beautiful month and still get rain.
Or heat.
Or a surprisingly chilly evening.
That's why I think couples should focus less on finding a supposedly “perfect weather date” and more on choosing a venue where they would be happy with either plan.
At Brandt 1910, couples have both our garden ceremony space and indoor ballroom available.
If you dream of an outdoor ceremony, wonderful.
But knowing there's also a comfortable indoor space gives you one less thing to worry about as your wedding approaches.
Book the Venue Before Building the Rest of Your Wedding Around the Date
Another reason to begin your venue search early?
Your wedding venue impacts almost every other decision you make.
It determines:
- Your official wedding date
- Guest capacity
- Ceremony location
- Reception layout
- Catering logistics
- Bar service
- Décor possibilities
- Vendor setup
- Photography locations
- Your overall timeline
Once your venue is booked, your wedding planning timeline gets much easier.
Now you have a real date to give photographers, DJs, caterers, florists and everyone else you're considering.
Before that, you're really just collecting ideas.
After your venue is booked, you're planning an actual wedding.
Before you schedule your first venue tour, sit down together and answer four questions:
What season do we want?
What are our top three possible dates?
How far are we comfortable traveling from Fulshear?
What matters most to us in a venue?
Maybe your priorities are an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception.
Maybe you want a historic building instead of a traditional ballroom.
Maybe you want to stay close enough to Fulshear that your local guests don't feel like they're traveling across Houston.
Or maybe you'd rather drive a few extra minutes west if it means finding a venue that's a better fit for your budget and style.
Knowing those answers will make your venue tours much more productive.
